From Parade to Fireworks:

can bring. The kids were already spotting flags and waving tiny sparklers in the backseat, and I
was doing that quiet mom math — Where will we eat? Where will we watch fireworks? How far
will we have to drag a tired toddler at the end of the night?
Our first night at ClubHouse Inn set the tone for the whole weekend. The rooms were
comfortable and spacious. There was plenty of room for backpacks, souvenirs, and all of us. It
was refreshing to have a home-base that felt like a real retreat after hours in the car.
The morning of the 4th started with a warm breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a day
full of celebration. One of the best parts of staying at ClubHouse Inn is location — you can walk
to so much of what makes this holiday special. Once you park, you barely need the car again.
By late morning, the West Yellowstone Farmers Market was
in full swing on the lawn of the Museum of Yellowstone.
Strolling through colorful booths of local produce and
handmade crafts, the kids sampled fresh berries while we
admired local creations.
Soon it was time for one of the highlights of the day: the
Yellowstone 4th of July Parade. Entire families lined the
streets as decorated floats and community groups made
their way downtown. Little hands waved flags, and the kids
cheered whenever a fire truck rumbled past: sirens, lights, and all.
After the parade, we made our way toward Pioneer Park, just two
and a half blocks from the hotel, where real Yellowstone
community spirit was alive. There were games and activities for
kids, live music drifting through the shade trees, and that
unmistakable buzz that only a small-town 4th of July brings.
Hungry from all the excitement, we walked over to Bullwinkle’s
for lunch, a beloved local spot right in town. Casual and family-
friendly, Bullwinkle’s has something for everyone: grilled favorites, fresh salads, juicy burgers,
wraps, and more. It was the perfect midday stop before heading back out for more fun.
In the afternoon, the celebrations continued with classic Independence Day activities. At the
Museum of Yellowstone, we joined in on Pie on the Porch. An annual tradition that quickly
became a favorite for our whole family. Sitting under the shade of trees, sharing slices of
homemade pie and chatting with other travelers and locals alike, felt like stepping into a
storybook summer evening.
Nearby, the Buffalo Chip Chuck gave kids a chance to test their aim in a fun chucking activity,
laughter and playful competition all around.
For those who wanted a bit of nature alongside the festivities, the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery
Center was just a short walk from the hotel. Seeing grizzly bears and wolves up close was
unforgettable, and it added a wonderfully wild Montana twist to the day.
Come evening, we made our way to Hanks for dinner, another walkable favorite. Its relaxed
atmosphere and hearty meals were exactly what we needed after an exciting day. Families
crowded the dining room, swapping stories about the parade, the pie, and who won the Buffalo
Chip Chuck, while plates of steak, fresh salads, and grilled favorites landed at the table.
As night fell, we gathered in Pioneer Park again for the
big moment: the 4th of July fireworks show. The display lit
up the wide Montana sky with brilliant bursts of color. Kids
pointed at every flicker and pop, and adults shared smiles
that matched the fireworks above. It was joyful, loud,
communal, everything a July 4th should be.
And when it was all over? We just walked back to
ClubHouse Inn.
We didn’t have to search for parking. We didn’t have to
navigate traffic. We didn’t have to rush a tired child
through a crowd. We simply walked back to the comfort of our rooms: happy, content, and full of
memories.
Staying at ClubHouse Inn made the entire holiday feel easy and connected. From its walkable
location which is steps from restaurants, Pioneer Park, the Museum festivities, to its welcoming
atmosphere at the end of the night, it took all the stress out of a big holiday weekend.
For families planning a 4th of July in West Yellowstone, especially with kids and grandparents in
tow, ClubHouse Inn gives you the freedom to enjoy every moment. From parade to pie, chuck to
fireworks, and back home again.
